Portuguese Appetizers
This tour combines two pleasures: cycling and eating.
Join this E-bike tour that introduces you to the best appetizers in Lisbon. Not only will you have a taste of everything, but also each delicacy will reveal some history of the city.
A “petisco” is an appetizer that, when accompanied by a salad or some rice, becomes a whole dish. The list of “petiscos” is endless: varieties of salads (pepper, watercress, codfish, fish eggs, octopus, pig’s ears); seafood dishes (like the traditional clams Bulhão Pato); deep-fried vegetables (“breaded green beans” could have been at the origin of the Japanese tempura); snails; fried shrimp pastries; meat puff pastries; sausages (like chorizo); chicken (stewed giblets); grilled pork (bifana) and veal sandwiches (prego); to finish with the famous codfish pastry.
These snacks have been refined over time and nowadays we are able to taste old recipes served in creative shapes, dimensions and mixtures.
