Our journey begins in the emblematic Bairro Alto, a neighborhood with five hundred years of history, where you will learn about the fascinating urban evolution of Lisbon up to the present day.

The tour also includes references to contemporary lifestyles and history — including the Carnation Revolution of 1974, which ended nearly five decades of dictatorship — all of which contribute to the Portuguese identity.

Highlights

• Alfama and Tradition: We will board the iconic tram toward Portas do Sol. From there, we will view the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora and the National Pantheon before exploring Alfama — Lisbon's oldest neighborhood, famous for its Fado houses and the festivities of Saint Anthony.

• Religious Heritage: A visit to the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé), the imposing cathedral built in 1150.

• Baixa Pombalina: A descent into the historical center, masterfully rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755, marking the beginning of modern Lisbon.

• Chiado and Carmo: An ascent to the Chiado hill to Largo do Carmo, where the ruins of the Carmo Convent remain as Gothic witnesses of the city. Nearby, the Santa Justa Lift offers one of the most privileged viewpoints over the Baixa and the castle hill.
